January Issue is Online!
Old Editor's NotesThe January 2007 issue of Byzarium is online and ready for your perusal. We have the second part of Tamara Wilhite's sci-fi novella, May These Stones Give Shelter, a Flash Fiction piece (don't forget to check out our contest!), a wonderful fantasy story by Elizabeth Hopkinson, and a great horror short by Mike Voltz. Read and enjoy!
We have also begun our subscription process -- the first half of May These Stones Give Shelter is now available only to subscribers. Think about signing up, why not? It's only $1.95 a month, and the money helps Aileen and I support the site and pay our writers.

We're Back in Business!
Editor Notes | Old Editor's NotesNovember 9, 2006
I've just posted part one of Tamara Wilhite's sci-fi novella, May These Stones Give Shelter, about a group of people trapped underground during an environmental disaster. This is the first in launch of subscription services we're going to start offering -- each chapter of the novellas we will run on Byzarium will be free for the first month, then go behind the subscription wall after that month is up and the second chapter is posted. So, to all those writers out there -- if you've got a novella languishing on your server, considering sending it on in! Please include "novella" in the subject line, though (we're still closed to regular subs).
Sometimes You Can't Win For Losing. . .
Editor Notes | Old Editor's NotesNovember 7, 2006-
UPDATE - we are currently closed to submissions while I work through the backlog. Aileen and I will be announcing an official relaunch date shortly.
October 16, 2006-
Sometimes you just can't win. After getting the site up and running in Drupal, Gordon and I discovered that our email had been knocked offline. The good news is that it is back up and running. The OTHER bad news, however, is that I have been laid off from my job. I'm still in a bit of shock, and I don't know if I'll be able to get an October issue up or not -- my life is completely insane right now, and doesn't look to be improving until November. Please have a little bit more patience with us -- this has just been a very difficult year.
On the Road Again. . .
Editor Notes | Old Editor's NotesWell, we've ALMOST got Byzarium back up and running the way it should be. I'm adding in the archives from the old site. Just to notify people - we are having MAJOR problems with our email. I'm looking into it. In the meantime, if you have tried to contact us and had your email bounced, try again at this email address.
Email Update: Basically, what's happened is that when we relaunched Byzarium using Drupal (our handy-dandy new Content Managment System) we were forced to switch to a new hosting service. It appears that everything was transferred over and that, unbenownst to us, the old Byzarium email address was knocked off-line. Emails could be sent from the account, but all incoming emails were bounced.
